Rehberg to the Truth: ‘Up Yours’
Lobbyist-turned-congressman taking heat for losing his cool all over again
Angry Rehberg responds with another false attack ad
BILLINGS, Mont.— First it was flipping off a pregnant constituent. Now Lobbyist-turned-Congressman Dennis Rehberg is taking heat for losing his cool all over again.
Instead of answering a question about why he relies on lobbyists for information, as he recently admitted to a group of lobbyists, Rehberg responded with “the finger.”
“Lobbyist Dennis Rehberg’s inappropriate response to a simple question is unbecoming of anyone who wants to be a United States Senator,” said Montanans for Tester spokeswoman Alexandra Fetissoff. “Instead of facing the facts, Congressman Rehberg responds with anger. That’s certainly not what we deserve from our representatives in Congress.”
This isn’t the first time Rehberg has represented Montana with angry, lewd gestures.
In 2006, Rehberg famously gave a pregnant Montana constituent a “junior-high equivalent of flipping someone the middle finger” after discovering she was working on a project for the New York Times.
On his anger streak, Rehberg today launched another false TV attack ad.
HERE is a fact-check of Rehberg’s ad with a special “Amnesia Alert” section, examining Rehberg’s direct role in causing the housing crash that led to the collapse of the U.S. economy.
Although Rehberg attacks congressional pay raises, he voted just last night to raise his own pay.
It was the sixth time since Rehberg promised Montanans he would “never vote for” a pay raise in Congress. However Rehberg, a multimillionaire, consistently votes to protect tax breaks for fellow multi-millionaires.
