Rehberg a no-show at pre-debate luxury bus stops

After skipping last Flathead debate, will he show up tonight?

KALISPELL, Mont. – Congressman Dennis Rehberg’s luxury bus tour across Montana was missing one key person this weekend: Dennis Rehberg.

Rehberg scheduled weekend campaign stops in Missoula, Great Falls, Choteau and Polson aboard a luxury bus that may violate campaign law.  Although his luxury bus was there, Rehberg himself never appeared in Great Falls, Choteau or Polson.  Instead, he sent staffers to speak to small groups of supporters on his behalf.

Rehberg’s absences over the past 36 hours raises some questions: Where is he?  Will he even show up at tonight’s long-scheduled U.S. Senate debate in Kalispell?

After all, Rehberg has a history of backing out of his debates.

His last debate in Flathead Valley was scheduled for June 24.  But with days until the debate, Rehberg canceled his appearance in order to attend an out-of-state fundraiser.

Tonight’s debate begins at 7 p.m. MDT.  It will be streamed online at dailyinterlake.com.
