Montana is not for sale – New TV Spot

Tester campaign launches new TV spot as Rehberg’s special interests double down

Karl Rove’s group spends staggering $610,000 for one week of airtime

BILLINGS, Mont. – As Lobbyist Dennis Rehberg’s special interests groups up the ante in Montana with unprecedented spending on TV attack ads, the Senate campaign of Montana farmer Jon Tester is launching a new TV spot holding him accountable for his close relationship with special interests.

Records show Karl Rove’s secretive special interest group, Crossroads GPS, is spending a staggering $610,000 just this week to air an attack ad across Montana.

The historic spending is a result of the U.S. Supreme Court’s controversial Citizens United decision, which overturned a century-old Montana law that prevented corporations from buying elections.

A fact check of the new Crossroads GPS ad is online HERE.

“Montana is being flooded with secret money from special interests that support Lobbyist Dennis Rehberg’s tax breaks for fellow millionaires and corporations that ship jobs overseas,” said Montanans for Tester spokeswoman Alexandra Fetissoff. “These groups are spending millions of dollars trying to buy votes for Dennis Rehberg. But like Congressman Rehberg, they don’t understand that Montana is not for sale.”

Montanans for Tester is amplifying that message with a new TV this week. The ad holds Rehberg accountable for his long record of doing favors for special interests.

“The big corporations are back to elect Congressman Dennis Rehberg with no accountability and little disclosure,” the new ad says. “Because they know Rehberg supports their agenda: tax breaks and tax loopholes for outsourcing our jobs. Tell Congressman Rehberg Montana is not for sale.”

The TV ad features footage of Rehberg golfing with high-dollar donors.
