Faster than a speedboat, Rehberg exits his own meeting

Congressman spends only four minutes at Colstrip wildfire event

BILLINGS, Mont. – Congressman Dennis Rehberg spent only four minutes at a wildfire “informational meeting” he claimed to have hosted today in Colstrip, Mont.

Rehberg billed his event as an opportunity “to help people affected by the [recent] fires seek assistance in recovering from their losses.”

But Rehberg then left the meeting just moments after introducing himself.

“If Dennis Rehberg had Montanans’ best interest in mind, he would have at least stuck around to find out how they’re doing,” said Alexandra Fetissoff, spokeswoman for Montanans for Tester. “Congressman Rehberg failed to give Montanans the time of day, and that’s yet another failure of accountability on his part.”

Rehberg sued the City of Billings and its fire department after a wildfire burned brush on his land near Billings. The lawsuit cost taxpayers $21,000.
