KBZK: Tester: Corporations are not “people”, introduces new amendment
Senator Jon Tester today introduced a Constitutional Amendment clarifying that corporations are not “people.”
Tester says he’s heeding the call of Montana voters, who voted overwhelmingly in November to direct Montana’s Congressional delegation to amend the U.S. Constitution to empower Congress to limit corporate spending in elections, “Corporations are not people. Folks in Montana know that and that’s what this constitutional amendment is all about. It’s about adding more transparency to elections. It’s about making sure the people and their ideas decide elections, not corporations and their money.”
