KAJ18: Tester visits new Montana distillery

A local distillery got a surprise visit Friday when U.S. Sen. Jon Tester stopped by Trailhead Spirits distillery, for a tour and a quick taste test.

Trailhead owner Casey McGowan recently dropped a bottle of his original vodka off at Tester’s Billings office. While Tester was in town, he decided to stop by the tasting room.

“He’s a wheat farmer, grew up in the same county that I grew up in and he knows my family,” McGowan said. “I thought it was something cool that we were doing with agriculture to promote Montana agriculture, and thought he might relate to it and want to stop in when he had a chance.”
