Senator Jim Webb: Jon Tester gets it done for veterans

HELENA, Mont.— A highly-decorated Marine combat veteran and Secretary of the U.S. Navy under Ronald Reagan is praising Montana farmer Jon Tester for his unprecedented leadership in serving the nation’s veterans.

Jim Webb is now a United States Senator from Virginia. Son of an Air Force career officer, an infantry combat veteran of Vietnam, whose son served as a Marine infantryman in Iraq, Webb authored the Post-9/11 GI Bill, which passed with Tester’s support and has provided education benefits to 800,000 veterans.

Webb joined Tester and hundreds of Montanans today on the steps of the Capital to tout Tester’s support and hard fought victories on behalf of Montana’s veterans.

“Montana’s and America’s veterans are blessed to have a partner like Jon—a man willing to do whatever it takes to live up to the promises made to everyone who served our nation,” said Webb. “Lots of people in Washington talk about doing right by our veterans, our service members and their families. Jon Tester gets it done for them.”

Following their event at the Capital, Tester and Webb held a discussion session with veterans over lunch. On Monday, Tester and Webb spoke with veterans during a crowded town hall meeting in Great Falls.
