Rehberg says his lawsuit against firefighters was ‘the right thing’ to do
Nov. 2, 2012
BILLINGS, Mont. – Congressman Dennis Rehberg isn’t backing down from his controversial lawsuit against Billings residents and their firefighters, telling Billings radio station Hot 101.9 this week that “every now and then, you have to do the right thing.”
Rehberg also told host “Big J” that his lawsuit wasn’t for money, though his lawsuit specifically sought monetary damages.
HERE is a video of the Congressman’s comments from Thursday morning:
Rehberg filed a lawsuit against the City of Billings and its firefighters in 2010 after the firefighters prevented a wildfire from hurting any people or homes on Rehberg’s high-end subdivision near Billings. Rehberg dropped the lawsuit because it had no merit, but not before costing Billings taxpayers $21,000 in legal fees.
