Montana Standard: National chamber ads irk local director

The executive director of the Butte Chamber of Commerce said he is aggravated by a television advertisement critical of a Montana senator.

The recent ad from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce faults U.S. Sen. Jon Tester. D-Mont.

Marko Lucich, Butte chamber director, said the local chamber doesn’t support or endorse the ad.

The national chamber, Montana chamber and local Butte chamber are separate entities, he said.

Lucich questioned the national group’s decision to spend cash on the political ad.

“I just think that’s a real waste of money, and I don’t think that’s where chamber memberships and dues should be going,” he said.
