Missoulian: Montana ripe for innovation from female entrepreneurs, speakers say
Montana is a state ripe for innovation, a national business leader told a Missoula audience Tuesday.
And more than half of the Montanans considered “ready to innovate” – would-be business owners who have completed some form of higher education – are women, Sharon Vosmek told the room full of women.
“(Women are) made for innovation. Isn’t that interesting? This is an opportunity for impact,” Vosmek said told Sen. Jon Tester’s Women’s Small Business Opportunity Workshop at the University of Montana.
Throughout the morning, attendees heard from two panels, “Made in Montana Success Stories” and “Access to Capital,” then from Jakki Mohr, a UM marketing professor who noted there’s more to marketing than just knowing how to sell a product.
