KULR: Veterans awarded medals decades after service

At Senator Jon Tester’s Billings office Friday afternoon, Mark Hamill and Paul Walborn were awarded a number of medals at a ceremony officiated by Senator Tester himself.

Walborn served during the Vietnam War and Hamill served during the 1st Gulf War, but both failed to receive recognition for their service due to faulty paperwork. Both veterans said they appreciate the acknowledgment of their service, despite it having come decades late.

“It feels great. It’s nice to finally have this chapter closed. Feel really happy and proud about it,” said Hamill.
