KULR: Public learns online safety tips
Lewis and Clark Middle School student Jenna Eaton said her parents are limiting the amount of time she can spend on Facebook to keep her safe, so Thursday night’s online safety forum sounded familiar.
“It kind of reminded me about what my parents always say about Facebook,” said Eaton. “That you have to be careful about it. And that once you post something it’s kind of there forever.”
Senator Jon Tester hosted the forum. The democrat invited the superintendents of Billings schools and public instruction, the mayor, the lieutenant governor, the attorney general, and two Facebook employees. They were trying to help parents become more comfortable with how Facebook works, and how to keep their children safe while on the popular social networking site.
