Sidney Herald: Tester: Small oil companies deserve credits
After President Obama made a comment about eliminating tax credits for oil companies during Tuesday’s State of the Union, Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., says he doesn’t totally agree with the idea.
During a press conference Thursday, Tester said he favors getting rid of tax credits for large oil companies but not for the smaller companies that work in the Bakken.
“The big guys are making large amounts of money, they don’t need it (tax credits),” Tester said.
But the senator feels tax credits should remain for the smaller companies.
“That will help develop the Bakken Play and resource development in Montana,” Tester said.
