KULR: Laurel Senior Accepted to Naval Academy
LAUREL- A Laurel High School senior is heading to the United States Naval Academy thanks, in part, to Senator Jon Tester.
18-year-old Ethan Studiner is a member of the National Honor Society, plays baseball and classical guitar, and helps teach disabled children how to ski.
Senator Tester nominated him for the Academy, saying Ethan is dedicated to serving our country and has an uncommon determination. Ethan says, “I just feel glad that I got chosen to be the one from Montana to get accepted into it and got nominated about a month ago and just got the call from Tester a couple days ago. That felt good, really good, big weight off my shoulders for my senior year.”
Ethan is one of 31 students Tester nominated to military academies. The nominations are based on the students’ academic achievement, leadership, community service, and participation in extracurricular activities.
