KTVQ: Tester visits with Montana troops in Iraq
YEMEN – Montana Senator Jon Tester returned to Iraq this week to visit with Montana troops deployed in Operation New Dawn.
This is Sen. Tester’s first trip back to Iraq, since his initial visit there in November of 2007. He says there is a marked difference this time around.
“when I went over in 2007, there were far more questions than answers created by that trip,” said Tester. “Now you can see light at the end of the tunnel here in Iraq. There are still some issues they’ve got to overcome and deal with, but the fact of the matter is you can see opportunity for success and stability – and it’s very, very, positive,” Tester said.
