KFBB: Senator Jon Tester Wants to Hear from Montanans About Post Office Future

Senator Jon Tester wants to hear from Montanans as Congress tackles the future of the US Postal Service.

Tester serves on the Committee that oversees the service.

The Committee met today to examine the challenges of the struggling organization.

The Postal Service is proposing to close 85 post offices in Montana but Tester says before making any final decisions, it needs to hear directly from the people.

“Timely and efficient mail service is an integral part of business. The Post Office does need to get their books balanced, but you don’t improve business by cutting services, especially services to rural America,” he explains.
