KECI: Tester Ask For “Trophy” Firearm Registration Period For Veterans

Senator Jon Tester wants American veterans to be able to legally register their war time fire arms and is asking the federal government to grant a registration period.

The Senator says ‘trophy firearms’ from battle are often legally kept by veterans. Yet, they are often not ‘legal’ to register. That means veterans could be illegally carrying a firearm from battle. Tester is hoping to change that in his ‘Veterans Heritage Firearms Act.’

Republican Senator John McCain is also in support, and together he and Senator Tester commented, “If an amnesty is not provided, we will be further convinced that legislation is necessary in order for our veterans to register their lawfully obtained firearms.”
