KECI: Missoula Protesters Weigh In On Debt Issue

Another round of protests this week outside of Republican Congressman Denny Rehberg’s office in downtown Missoula.

Protesters were upset over his stance on Medicare, but willingly weighed in on the debt issue. For their part, Rehberg’s staff defended the congressman’s stance, calling for a balanced budget amendment.

“The debt ceiling right now,we have to get our spending under control. Congressman Rehberg supports a balanced budget amendment to the United States Constitution, that would keep D.C. politicians from spending money they don’t have. It’s something that we have in the state of Montana. It’s something that Denny Rehberg wants to see on the federal level, so that we can get our deficit and our debt under control,” said Rehberg Campaign Spokesperson Brian Barrett.
