KAJ18: Tester talks on Egypt turmoil, impact on the U.S.
Montana Senator Jon Tester just returned back from a week of touring Iraq, Afghanistan and Yemen and although he did not enter Egypt, he could tell from the sentiments in Yemen “that something wasn’t right”.
He says although this conflict may seem far away it could have impacts to the United States.
“In the Middle East it’s important that we have stability like every region in the country, but the Middle East has been particularly turbulent for the last ten years and longer. So, you just hope that things work out for the best that people get the liberties that they deserve and the freedoms that they deserve and the openness in government that they deserve and yet it doesn’t become a government that’s hostile to the United States.”
