Havre Daily News: Port hours not so great, actually

A group of organizers from Montana and Alberta — and Montana’s federal lawmakers — are scrambling to get a policy change implemented in Canada regarding the extension of summer hours at the Wild Horse Port of Entry.

The group found out this week that Canada Border Services Agency’s agreement to mirror a longer period of summer hours did not exactly mirror the U. S.’s. While the U. S. side will allow commercial traffic through from 8 a. m. to 9 p. m. all week long, the Canadian side limits it to 8 a. m. to 5 p. m. Monday through Friday, the hours set by law for commercial traffic at the port.
