KXLH: Tester's forest bill gets revised

Democratic Senator Jon Tester is offering congress some revisions to a bill, he says, will create logging jobs in Montana and safeguard hunting and fishing areas.

He says when the bill went to committee some vital components were pulled out.

The new version, he says, restores those parts.

Tester said, “Basically, through the process, it’s a long process and there’s a lot of curves and turns in the process but ultimately in the end there’s four things we need to have in this bill in the end: logging, recreation, wilderness and restoration and that’s what we proposed back to the committee.”

The bill was originally introduced in 2009.
