KFBB: Senator Tester Submits Amendments to Food Safety Act
Senator Jon Tester has proposed two amendments to the Food Safety Modernization Act that will be on the Senate floor next week.
The new Federal act will require all food producers, regardless of size, to do a better job testing, tracking, and recording their products to prevent food borne illnesses.
Senator Tester is concerned that new regulations will have negative effects on small producers in Montana, especially those who sell their goods at local farmers markets.
