KFBB: Senator Tester stands behind logging in wilderness bill
U.S Senator Jon Tester has publicly released some changes to his Logging and Wilderness Bill today.
Tester is back in Washington DC to beat back a rewrite of the carefully crafted Montana Compromise. Tester is re-inserting mandates to log tens of thousands of forested acres that a senate committee earlier axed from their draft.
He also wants the bill to be used as a national template to be used elsewhere. The Democrat will have to convince the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee to take a look at his proposal.
