KECI: Pay It Back Act
Jon Tester is calling on congress to use bailout money to help the United States get out of debt.
In 2008, major financial institutions received billions of dollars of federal money to stay afloat.
Now, Senator Tester has cosponsored the ‘Pay It Back Act’ in Washington D.C.
The bill directs un-used and repaid money from the Wall Street bailout to pay down the nation’s debt.
Senator Jon Tester, (D) Montana: “Main street should never have to pay for Wall Street. That’s why I’m against bailouts. That’s why I voted against the Wall Street bailout and auto bailout. We ought to be using those funds to pay down the national debt.”
