KBZK: Tester tours Billings tornado damage

BILLINGS – Montana Senator Jon Tester is in the Magic City to see the aftermath of last Sunday’s tornado and to push for federal funding to help the Heights area.

Tester says that through this disaster, he’s been able to see that transportation and public safety are two main issues the Heights area needs help with.

The Democrat sat down with MetraPark officials and city and county leaders on Saturday afternoon to talk about Sunday’s twister and its devastating effects.

After the tornado hit, Main Street was closed down, making it difficult for emergency responders to move in and for anyone to move out.

Main Street is the busiest roadway in the state as drivers commute through it to get to Highway 3 or access communities like Shepherd and Huntley.
