Detroit Free Press: U.S., Canada are working to secure border, Napolitano says
WASHINGTON — Could Canada be a staging ground for terrorist threats against the United States?
Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., asked that question Wednesday as the Senate Homeland Security Committee began hearings into the failed Dec. 25 bombing attempt aboard Detroit-bound Flight 253.
Tester asked Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano about reports he has seen that radical anti-American extremists could gather in Canada and then stage an attack across the border. He was not specific.
