There is nothing treasonous about choosing not to clap for a speech given by an elected official. It’s been protected by the First Amendment ever since our Forefathers drafted the Bill of Rights.

But when Donald Trump accuses someone of treason, the weight of the White House and the executive branch is behind his words.
