Protecting Social Security
To the members of Congress:
When President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act into law, more than 75% of senior citizens lived at or below the poverty line. Today, almost 90% of Americans 65 or older rely on Social Security for all or part of their income.
It’s hard to overstate the importance of Social Security. Yet extremists in Congress have tried over and over again to privatize it.
It’s up to us to make sure that doesn’t happen. Social Security is an invaluable lifeline for millions of Americans. That’s why I’m signing on to support Jon’s efforts to protect it.
Signed,
