BOAT CRASH UPDATE: Feet-dragging in Flathead County

Good afternoon, reporters:

Many of you have expressed interest in updates about the release of the investigative report about Congressman Dennis Rehberg’s alcohol-related boat crash on Flathead Lake.  Judge John McKeon ordered the release of the documents a full week ago.

As Judge McKeon notes in his order, Rehberg “is currently in a contested race for a U.S. Senate seat with Election Day being November 6,” adding that he “finds no reason to delay this matter further.”

Now the holdup is with the Flathead County Clerk, Peg Allison.  Ms. Allison has said the records would be released to the public today.  Now she is saying that the redacted report will only be released to the Associated Press and the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).

The timing of the release of these very important records is unclear.  And we hope you join us in demanding full accountability and transparency—neither of which have been delivered since the judge’s order.

If you have questions, please contact Ms. Allison directly:
