Immigration and Securing the Border
Jon’s position on immigration is simple: people who wish to immigrate to the United States must follow the rules, and we must enforce them. That’s why Jon opposes amnesty for illegal immigrants.
Jon also supports cracking down on employers who hire illegal immigrants and is fighting to end incentives for corporations who ship American jobs overseas.
Jon knows that legal immigrants, like his grandparents, helped build America into what it is today. But he also believes that no one is above the law.
In his first term, Jon has worked hard to bolster security along America’s northern border with Canada, as well as the southern border with Mexico. Jon believes our borders are only as strong as their weakest link. Keeping terrorists and drugs out by strengthening our border is a matter of local and national security.
